The experience
Walk between Wadi Shab’s steep canyon walls, reach its freshwater pools and finish the coastal day with a stop at Bimmah Sinkhole.
The journey follows the coast southeast of Muscat to the Wadi Shab entrance near Tiwi. A short boat crossing, when operating, leads to the walking trail. Follow your guide past irrigated plots, boulders and rocky ledges as the valley narrows. The walk is a substantial part of the experience, with uneven ground and limited shade rather than a roadside viewpoint alone.
At the pools, swimming is optional and depends on your ability and the water conditions. Reaching the inner cave waterfall involves swimming and a confined opening; it is not suitable for every guest and is never a guaranteed part of the route. Back on the coastal road, Bimmah Sinkhole offers a contrasting limestone basin with a viewpoint above and steps down towards the water. Allow around eight hours for the full outing, including road travel, with the stop order set around conditions.
