Slow down on the Nile aboard a traditional felucca, then step ashore to explore Aswan’s island Botanical Garden.
Meet the crew at the arranged pier and settle aboard the sailing boat as it moves into the island landscape. Views towards Elephantine, the west bank and the Aga Khan Mausoleum setting depend on wind and the route the skipper can sail. The attraction is the changing river perspective and the quiet pace, rather than a fixed circuit completed at a motorboat’s speed.
At Kitchener’s Island, the Botanical Garden adds a walk among trees, palms and planted paths to the sailing portion. The existing program allows about two hours overall, with around an hour of sailing alongside the garden visit and transfers; it does not mean two continuous hours under sail. Wind can alter the timing, and any motorboat substitution or assistance should be agreed rather than assumed. Elephantine’s archaeological sites and the mausoleum interior are not included in this outing.
