Availability, final price and terms need confirmation.
About 3–5 hours; final dive programme to confirm
An enquiry into Alexandria’s submerged heritage
Authorised sites selected by the dive team
A proposed two-dive program
Equipment, permits and suitability checked before acceptance
The experience
Explore the possibility of seeing Alexandria’s submerged heritage with an operating dive team, rather than a promise to enter an intact underwater palace.
Alexandria’s coastal archaeology includes material associated with the ancient harbour landscape and the area near the Pharos lighthouse site. Scientific work has documented submerged architectural remains, but research sites and recreational dive access are different matters. Your dive centre must identify which locations are authorised and suitable for your certification, recent experience and the sea on your date.
The existing proposal is for two guided dives, with equipment, boat arrangements, permissions, city transfers and lunch subject to the operating centre’s written confirmation. Begin with participant screening and an equipment briefing, then follow the approved dive plan and the guide’s instructions underwater. Visibility can be limited and particular monuments may not be accessible or recognisable. The final duration may differ from the indicative three-to-five-hour outline when permits, preparation and conditions are taken into account. Observe without touching, moving or collecting archaeological material.
